Ian is the chief cook, bottle washer and janitor of the Herd. He has a breadth of experience in both small companies and companies large enough to be in the Fortune single digits. Along the way, he’s worked with Sun Solaris, OS/2, Windows, Linux, and still remembers a little bit of DOS. The first computer he ever touched was his grandmother’s Kaypro 2 CP/M “portable” in the very early 80s, about the same time that he was causing short circuits and melting wires on his Radio Shack all-in-one electronics sets. His parents wisely decided to wait a few years before buying a Zenith PC, which he promptly disassembled numerous times to see how it worked.

More recently, he’s been working in the church IT world and is an active member of the Church IT Round Table, a group of church geeks that share ideas and provide each other with technical and moral support.

Ian blogs about technology and food, and tweets profusely. In his spare time, he is studying and practicing to become a hot air balloon pilot.
